Home Companion Services

A companion can make a tremendous difference in a person's life by keeping them more engaged and active. Companion services are home-based supervision and monitoring activities that assist and/or instruct an individual in maintaining a safe environment.

Companion activities may include:

  • escorting individuals to medical or business appointments or recreational activities
  • supervising or monitoring a client in performing activities of daily living
  • reminding individuals to self-administer medications
  • reading to or for an individual.

Companions do not do any type of homemaking or cleaning.  Companions do not do any hands-on care (for example they are not able to help with bathing or other hygenic care).
